40 Days of Prayer Begins

October 19 begins a 40-Day Prayer Journey Around the ABWE World. Each day a country and ministry will be introduced. There will be specific requests from missionaries serving in that country. Plan to join us in interceding for God's work around the ABWE World. You can start the journey any time. Call a friend and take the journey together! It's a privilege to pray - share the blessing!

In the first chapter of the Apostle Paul's letter to the Colossian believers, he outlined how he prayed for them. As you pray for missionaries, pray these things for them. We are confident you will be blessed as you take time to pray for the work of evangelism that is in progress on every continent of the earth!

"We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven . . . .

"For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be

• filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
• that you may walk worthy of the Lord , fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God ;
• strengthened with all might , according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;
• giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light."

Pray that missionaries will know God's will for their ministries and their personal lives - that they would receive wisdom and spiritual understanding from the Lord for the decisions that they face every day.

Pray that missionaries would walk worthy of the Lord - that their work would be fruitful - and that most of all they would come to know God more.

Pray that missionaries would have physical strength, endurance, and patience for their labors - and that they would have joy in accomplishing their daily tasks!

Pray that missionaries would be thankful as they see God provide.

And remember that we are all "partakers of the inheritance," whether we serve in North America or Australia - South America or Africa - Europe or Asia . God bless you as you pray!
