
Four years ago, Rich and JoAnn Davis started New Life Baptist Church
of Monterrico (a suburb of LIMA, PERU) in their home, partnering
with two young Peruvian pastors. The congregation outgrew their
house and backyard. After much prayer and research, the group decided
to buy the property of a nearby bankrupt business. It was only an
immediate solution to their space problem, but they believed it
was within the realm of possibility to purchase. Although the Davises

While over a million people danced in the streets of Natal, Brazil
in the Carnatal (a local carnival), 250 believers gathered at a
far different kind of party. They came from near and far to praise
God for Berean Baptist Seminary's 50 years of preparing workers
for God's harvest field.
Former faculty members who journeyed from North
America included Gene and Earlene Wellsfry, Frank and Doris Jertberg,
Frank and Brenda Bale, Richard and Patricia Glenny, Virginia Martin,

ABWE began planting churches in Sydney, Australia, 30 years ago.
The churches experienced their greatest test of maturity during
the Summer Olympics when 10,000 athletes from 200 countries-many
from places missionaries cannot go-assembled in Sydney. Estimates
state the crowds numbered three million people including athletes,
officials, and spectators.
Another group from many races and languages converged
on Sydney, not as spectators, but as participants in Eternal Gold,
the evangelistic outreach sponsored by Gospel Literature Services
(GLS).
