Calling Healthcare Professionals & Students
If you shouted, "Is there a doctor in the house?" in
your church, would anyone respond? What about a nurse, a pharmacist,
or other medical professional?
We trust you won't have to shout for a doctor during an emergency,
but many of ABWE's medical ministries are operating on emergency
status. They are calling for doctors (MD or DO), dentists, pharmacists,
nurses, physicians assistants, nurse practitioners, licensed practical
nurses, podiatrists, physical therapists, laboratory technicians,
surgical technicians, x-ray technicians, hospital administrators-and
students in all those areas.
Besides career service in existing hospitals, ABWE is looking for
medical missionaries to help open or increase ministries in Albania,
Liberia, Mongolia, and Ukraine.
ABWE also has opportunities to serve short-term from two weeks
to two years.
Two programs are available:
- A healthcare professional connected to a particular need in
an ABWE medical work
- A healthcare team which targets one field, usually for two weeks.
Consider these opportunities:
- June 2001 - Brazil
- August 2001 - Peru
- October 2001 - Liberia and The Gambia
After a missions trip in 2000, health workers wrote,
"This trip has opened my eyes to the need for and the challenges
of medical missions."
"The Lord used this trip to make changes in my commitment
to missions."
