"Commit to Faithful Men"
By Dr. John Sircar
President of the South Asian Theological Seminary and Bible College*
In
addition to their studies, students at the South Asian Theological
Seminary and Bible College* work for the Lord. Let me share two
examples.
When A. Biswas came to know the Lord and decided to serve Him,
he was admitted into the Bible college. He was interested in spreading
the gospel in his village where there was not a single Christian.
Within six months, he baptized the first two believers, and later
baptized 22 more. I took all the Bible college students for the
dedication of the beautiful church building. All but four families
in the villagers have come to the Lord.
P.K.
Biswas retired from a career in the navy and returned to his home.
In the early 1990s, he planted a church. Last year we dedicated
another church he had started. Mr. Biswas has several church planters
working with him in the pattern of 2 Timothy 2:2,
"And the things that thou hast heard
of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men
who shall be able to teach others also."
P. K. Biswas waited a few years to attend Bible college. When
he enrolled, he brought with him men whom he had led to the Lord.
They, too, brought men they led to Christ.
These students have started four new churches entirely through
national workers. Yes, they make mistakes, but they learn and try
to correct them. The Bible College and Theological Seminary seek
to produce strong Christian leaders.
