The Lighter Side

During her travels, Jeannie Lockerbie Stephenson heard this story from a national Indian missionary who works among the Kukna tribe, one of the 3,000 people groups in India.

A national missionary visited this tribe and was the first to tell them about Jesus. Over a period of time, the missionary explained the unique life, teaching, and miracles of the Lord Jesus. One day, the tribal chief asked, "Was this Jesus a good man?"

"Yes," the missionary replied.

"Did He ever do anything wrong?"

"Oh, no," responded the missionary.

"Is He alive today?"

"Yes," the missionary answered, "even though He died, He came back to life and is alive now."

"Then," proclaimed the chief, "tell Him to come here. We want Him to run for our constituency in the upcoming election. All the politicians around here have robbed and cheated us. We need a good man."
