Children’s Corner
The Children’s Corner usually features stories or articles by MKs.
In this issue, however, we want you to hear from another part of
the missions team – kids in North America who help support missions
ministries around the world.
Maybe you never thought you could be part of a missions team. If
not, you’ll want to read the following letter from Alex and Zack,
two students from the 2003 Vacation Bible School at First Baptist
Church in Silvis, Illinois. This Bible school raised over eight
hundred dollars for the “Tuck a Child in Bed” program for orphans
in Africa who have no beds of their own.
How I think we raised so much money is the kids saw the beds
in the picture and thought, not having a mom and dad would be
hard enough, but to have hardly enough food and not to have any
beds, that would be tough.
Another reason why I think we raised so much money is because
of the tractor. For the kids to see the tractor and the smoke
must have been fun for them, so in order to see the tractor move
they had to give money, and of course the more money you give
the farther it goes. Our VBS raised $820.00 to buy 24 beds.

Loretta Cushey, VBS Director, called ABWE in March to ask about
missions projects she could help get her students involved in. When
she was told about the Tuck a Child in Bed project, she knew her
students would want to help provide beds for orphans in East Africa.
