Into Life Eternal
PRISCILLA BAILEY April 20, 1922—August 4, 2003
Priscilla Bailey was born April 20, 1922. After 2 ½ years
in the U.S. Marine Corps, Priscilla attended Bible classes in Hingham,
Massachusetts, where she received Christ as her Savior. At
Providence Bible Institute she met Millie Crouch who became her
co-laborer in the Gospel for over 50 years! She was appointed for
service with ABWE in1950, and with Millie Crouch, left for the Philippines
in December of 1951.
During her 39 years of service in the Philippines, Priscilla was
involved in a variety of ministries with children, young people
and women in Bukidnon Province on the Island of Mindanao, in Southern
Leyte and as the manager of ABWE’s vacation facilities, Doane Rest,
in Baguio City.
Priscilla and Millie retired from foreign missionary service in
1990. They were highly respected and greatly loved by their
missionary colleagues and national brethren; without a doubt, they
were one of the most effective women’s teams in ABWE’s history.
Priscilla was preceded in death by Millie on December 4, 2002.
After an apparent stroke, Priscilla went to be with the Lord on
Monday, August 4, 2003. You can read more about Priscilla and
Millie’s ministry in the Philippines in the book that Millie wrote,
Me?
A Missionary?
C. DANIEL HOLDEN January 5, 1916—September 16, 2003
Chauncey Daniel Holden, 87, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday,
September 16. Daniel and his wife, Lauretta, faithfully served
with ABWE in Brazil from 1947 to 1986. Their ministry in Brazil
involved the planting of three churches, establishment of two summer
Bible camps, teaching in both public and Christian schools, and
tent ministry. Dan and Lauretta continued serving the Lord
in their local church during their retirement years.
Dan was diagnosed with leukemia in July, developed pneumonia, and
slipped peacefully into eternity with Lauretta by his side. The
private, graveside service was Thursday, September 18. A Memorial
Service was held on Saturday, September 27, 2003, at Faith Baptist
Church in Stockton, California.
