Children's Corner
Hello! My name is Jenna Cook. In October 2002, I had the privilege
of going to a tiny island below Sicily, Italy, called Malta. I went
to assist my parents with their ministry to MKs. It was the most
interesting, challenging thing that I had ever experienced. At the
same time I had a blast! A faith-stretching situation for me was
that I had never been on a plane before, so my fear was high, but
as always, Jesus protected my parents and me. My favorite memory
of Malta was hanging out with the MKs, especially when Uncle Duane
(Early) and Uncle Don (Eade) took us on boat races!
A note from the editor: Most short-term missions trips are
for adults, but this one involved 10-year-old Jenna Cook, whose
dad is the Christian Education Pastor at Bethesda Baptist Church
in Brownsburg, Indiana. For several years, Jim and his wife, Susan,
have provided a children's program for the MKs at the ABWE Central
& Eastern Europe bi-annual regional conferences. They have considered
their short-term ministries to children as a vital contribution
to the missionary efforts of the CEE team. They have been to Cyprus,
Slovenia, and Malta. Each time Jim and Susan have taken along one
of their children to participate in the ministry.
The Cooks have also provided a children's program for ABWE's
annual Missionary Enrichment Conference in the summer. We are grateful
to Bethesda Baptist Church for sharing their CE pastor and his wife
with us for this important ministry to our missionary families.
