Hurricane Relief for the Caribbean
A succession of devastating hurricanes struck the Caribbean this
fall, killing dozens and leaving many thousands homeless. ABWE missionaries
are partnering with national pastors and church leaders in Grenada
and Jamaica to provide relief to those in need of shelter, food,
and other basic necessities of life.
Several years ago, ABWE ministered to Nicaraguans devastated by
Hurricane Mitch. That effort led to the establishment of a new ministry
for ABWE, which has grown to include several missionary couples,
a camp/conference center, and expansion into nearby Costa Rica.
God could multiply your gift in the same way in Grenada and Jamaica.
ABWE has advanced funds from our general relief account to help
get relief efforts started. We need $25,000 immediately, and could
use more than $100,000 over the next few months. Please pray about
becoming a part of this compassion ministry. Church members may
wish to talk to your pastor or missions chairman about involving
your congregation. All gifts will be used for relief and compassion
evangelism efforts.
Donations may be mailed to ABWE, PO Box 8585, Harrisburg, PA 17105,
or in Canada, ABWE Canada, 980 Adelaide Street S., Suite #34, London,
ON N6E 1R3. Mark your check “Hurricane Ivan.” You may also donate
online, or get updated information about the relief efforts, at
