Robert V. Nusca January 11, 1926—August 3, 2005
Robert V. Nusca, retired ABWE missionary to South Asia, passed into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at home in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Bob was born on January 11, 1926. He served with the US Army as a medic during World War II in the European theater, at which time he received two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.
After a business career in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Bob and his wife, Jimmie, were appointed by ABWE in 1978 to serve in South Asia, where they ministered for seventeen years at a Christian hospital. Bob served as the hospital business manager, and Jimmie served as manager of the guest house and director of a ministry for widowed national women.
After retirement, Bob served in leadership capacities with his home church, Calvary Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also served as a representative for ABWE’s Planned Giving Department.
For the last several years, Bob had been battling idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Bob is survived by his wife of forty years, Jimmie, and children Michael Caterino and his wife, Christina; and Patty Caterino-Motley and her husband, Tim. There are five grandchildren: Rachel, Joshua, Caleb, Anna, and Aaron.
