Canadian Editorial

Have you ever looked in the refrigerator for an item and missed it when it was right before your eyes? Sometimes we can’t see things that are right in front of our noses.
Elijah was looking for God to speak in the whirlwind, earthquake, and fire instead of in the still small voice, and He almost missed what God was saying to him. Some people tell me they are waiting for a call to missions when the call was given millennia ago. How could they have missed it?
There is great potential for ministry before us if we will attune our senses to the need. Canada’s multicultural mix presents opportunities to reach out to the whole world. The mission field is right on our doorstep. One question we ask missionary candidates who apply to ABWE is how are you involved in evangelism now? How can they expect to evangelize on the mission field if they are not doing it in Canada? Wherever there are people without Christ, there is a mission field.
Can’t see the forest for the trees. Can’t see the mission field for the people! They are all around us. Let’s open our eyes and see as God sees.
