Congratulations ABWE on 80 Years of Ministry

ABWE was born two years before I was, so we’ve sort of grown up together. Over the years, I have rejoiced at the ministry the Lord has given you.

We live in a rapidly changing world, but your personnel have been alert and flexible and able to keep the ministry effective and yet without compromise. May it always be so! You have used your human and financial resources wisely and have sought to magnify Jesus Christ. This is the kind of stewardship the Lord blesses. 

You are in our hearts, our prayers, and our budget. God bless you!

Congratulations on your 80th birthday. You have played a role in my own life as a pastor: consistently reminding me that our task is not reaching our surrounding geography with the gospel, but reaching our generation with the gospel. The influences of your leadership, missionaries, and kindred hearts on my own life and ministry have been invaluable in keeping me from focusing my attention only on 6051 Tryon Road in Cary, North Carolina. 

Besides that, I happen to love you and consider it a great privilege to watch the incredible things God continues to do through you. Don’t let up, don’t settle down, don’t give in. I pray you will continue taking breathtaking steps of faith for God’s glory.

Down through the years I have had the good fortune of being among your missionaries in various countries and conferences, your students in classrooms at Trinity and elsewhere, and your leaders at that strikingly beautiful headquarters in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. On every such occasion, I have always come away with my vision sharpened, my heart warmed, and my faith deepened. In a day when the Christian mission is being expanded to include all kinds of worthy endeavors, ABWE still prioritizes the proclamation of the gospel and the establishment of responsible New Testament churches worldwide. And for that, all of God’s people will want to congratulate them and give thanks to God.
