Vision Greater Than Our Memories

ABWE now stands on the threshold of eight decades of God’s faithfulness. From this vantage point, our faith is strengthened as we review our memories, reflect on the lessons God has taught us, and celebrate our past victories. But unless our vision for the future exceeds our memories of the past, we risk diminishing the faith of the next generation to be used of God beyond our past experience.

The Story of Paul and Helen Miller

In 1945, with a burning desire to reach the neglected tribes of Southeast Asia, Paul and Helen Miller approached Dr. Commons and the ABWE Board about the possibility of going to Tibet. The idea of ministry in that part of the world was not completely off the ABWE Board’s radar, but this would not be a quick and easy decision.
Prisoners Set Free

At the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) in Manila, Philippines, nearly a thousand inmates gathered for the annual Christmas party put on by members of Freedom in Christ Baptist Church, a congregation of born-again prisoners started by missionary Sophie Jenista and her assistant, Deb Anat.… The crowd was mostly made up of the 800 faithful attendees of Sophie’s Tuesday Bible studies, where prisoners are given a clear introductory presentation of the gospel.
